Want to buy a light box? RVK Tashuta is here to help! We offer fast, high-quality light box manufacturing to suit any budget.

A light box is a lighting product: a three-dimensional structure whose front face is made of translucent material. Inside is a light source that illuminates the front face, which carries the advertising message (text and graphics).

Light boxes, illuminated structures, light signs – you may come across different names for the same type of advertising.

Why is light box manufacturing so relevant today?

Because a light box is an all-rounder, equally at home in outdoor and indoor advertising. Light boxes, at a price within reach of most customers, serve as wayfinding, information and decoration all at once. It is hard to imagine a city skyline or a shopping centre interior without them.

Thanks to technical progress in illuminated advertising, designers and engineers face virtually no limits. This kind of advertising always looks striking and attractive.

It is especially valuable for businesses that are open in the evening and at night. Catching the eye even from a distance, it puts a real "bright accent" on the business it advertises, raising its profile and competitiveness.

It is a 100 % reliable way to dress your premises. A light box will showcase, support and underline the status of your company.

Types of light boxes:

RVK Tashuta offers fast light box manufacturing in Kyiv for customers all over Ukraine. We can make illuminated structures that are:

  • any overall size;
  • for indoor or outdoor use;
  • single- or double-sided;
  • flat or with applied elements that create a relief effect;
  • classic rectangular or any custom shape.

Every stage of production takes place at our own facilities under full quality control, and the result is an effective marketing tool for attracting potential customers.

Light box manufacturing: technical details.

1. The sides and back of a light box are made of rigid materials:

  • galvanised steel profile;
  • PVC sheet;
  • aluminium composite.

2. The front face of a light box is made of materials with excellent light transmission:

  • opal acrylic;
  • multiwall polycarbonate;
  • banner fabric;
  • textile fabric.

3. As the light source we use energy-saving exposed and enclosed LEDs (LED modules), which light the box evenly and for a long time.

Both the front face and the back can be lit – the latter with backlighting that creates a halo effect. We use electrical equipment from world-famous companies that lead the way in energy-efficient lighting solutions and innovative systems.

To choose the right combination of materials for your light box, you need to be clear about where it will go and what size you want. Every material has its own resistance to damage and to the effects of the environment.

Light box manufacturing is a complex, resource- and labour-intensive process. A light module with a suitable beam angle is chosen individually for each design. Shallow boxes get modules with a wide beam angle to avoid hot spots. Modules with a narrow beam angle are fitted in projecting light boxes to light the whole surface evenly.

What front face can your light box have?

  • Acrylic (opal PMMA).

Tops the list of the most popular materials thanks to its high impact strength, low weight and excellent light-diffusing properties, which give the box a soft, even glow. It is easy to machine and cut to shape, which makes shaped light boxes possible.

An acrylic face works perfectly for small light boxes (up to 3 m long). We do not recommend it for large structures, as over time acrylic bows into a lens shape and may even crack.

  • Multiwall polycarbonate.

One of the strongest man-made polymers, polycarbonate has exceptional properties: wear resistance and resistance to temperature changes and UV radiation. It is transparent, easy to work with and light.

Its cellular structure means it is not used for small light boxes. It is ideal for seamless surfaces, so a polycarbonate light box up to 6 m long is a great option to consider.

  • Banner fabric.

If you need a large light box, buying one in Kyiv, or online from anywhere in the country, is easy. The RVK Tashuta team will help you choose the best option – for example, a light box with a banner front face.

Banner fabric (vinyl) is well suited to large illuminated structures, as it comes in large rolls to begin with. It is light and withstands wind loads well.

However, its colour rendering at night leaves much to be desired, so a light box with a vinyl face lacks the depth of colour of an acrylic one. Outdoors it fades over time. Still, if none of this matters to you, it is a stylish and interesting option. This material also suits light boxes where the image needs to be changed often: replacing a banner is much easier and cheaper than changing the graphics on a similar acrylic structure.

  • Textile fabric.

We are constantly bringing new technologies into our production. Not long ago we added the frameless fabric light box, a newcomer to the advertising market, to our range.

These light boxes have a front made of premium European specialist fabric. They stand out with a striking, rich image produced by UV printing and bring a stylish, modern touch to any interior.

Why not try a fabric light box yourself? It can be made in any size.

  • Composite.

A composite light box wins the prize for longevity. The 3-layer structure of the coloured composite panels, used in construction as cladding, guarantees maximum strength and a reliable light box.

Composite is combined with acrylic because it mills extremely well. It looks very smart and solid, and curved designs are possible. We recommend a composite light box for outdoor use.

What is the light box frame made of?

  • PVC sheet

A strip of PVC sheet is bonded to the front face, giving a one-piece structure.

  • PVC profile.

It is also known as System 4 (Quadro). The system lets us assemble light boxes quickly, like a construction kit. Four lengths of plastic profile are joined with straight or rounded corner pieces to form the frame. Opal acrylic or polycarbonate slots into the profile groove at the front, and a rigid PVC or galvanised metal panel at the back.

  • Aluminium profile.

Similar to the Quadro system, but with aluminium profile instead of PVC. The result is stronger and longer-lasting.

  • Steel frame clad with composite

Used for large light boxes. The frame is made of steel box section welded into a skeleton. The sides are clad with aluminium composite, and a banner is usually stretched over the front.

How are light boxes lit?

When choosing what goes inside a light box, we take into account how bright the front face needs to be. Today LEDs are without doubt the longest-lasting and most energy-efficient light source.

To take on light box manufacturing with confidence, you need to account for a great many details and technical points – and, of course, really know your trade. We are confident of a good result because we are confident in our staff, who have vast experience in this field.

Software is used to calculate the correct placement of the modules, with the optimum overlap of light inside the box. Over time every LED crystal degrades: the phosphor deteriorates and the beam angle narrows. If the modules are placed wrongly, dark patches will appear on the front face within a few years.

DARK PATCHES IN LIGHT BOXES CAUSED BY INCORRECT MODULE PLACEMENT

Thanks to their obvious advantages, LED modules have long since retired fluorescent tubes, because they:

  • have high luminous efficacy and high mechanical strength;
  • come on at full brightness instantly;
  • have a long service life that is not affected by the number of on/off cycles;
  • are safe and unaffected by temperature.

On top of all that, LED products are now reasonably priced.

So RVK Tashuta's advice is: even if you are only replacing the lighting in your old light box, choose LED modules.

A dynamic-lighting light box from RVK Tashuta is another interesting option!

With the LED era replacing fluorescent tubes, which limited what ideas could be realised, light box manufacturing now offers variety to suit every taste and budget.

Moisture-proof exposed LED modules in a silicone sleeve make it possible to create pronounced lighting effects (fading outlines, flashing and so on). Being sealed, they are also suitable outdoors. The light from these LEDs is visible even in daylight.

Ways of applying graphics to the light box face.

  • Full-colour large-format printing on self-adhesive film.

The most popular option. A printer applies the image to translucent vinyl film using water-resistant ink. The film is then laminated onto the face of the light box (acrylic or polycarbonate).

This technology is ideal when you need photo-quality images.

Here the image is printed directly onto the fabric, which is then stretched over the structure.

  • UV printing on a UV printer.

This is a modern printing method that works on a huge range of materials, from cardboard to metal. Ultraviolet light cures the ink applied to the light box face, giving bright, rich, water-resistant colours that resist abrasion and sunlight.

  • Applied graphics in self-adhesive coloured Oracal film.

Elements are cut from film of the required colour on a plotter and then applied to the surface of the light box. These films do not fade, so they are well suited to long-term use. They diffuse light well, giving the box an even, deep glow. This technology beats printing with solvent or UV inks for UV resistance.

  • CNC milling of the image in an opaque material with a translucent one laid behind.

The opaque material is usually composite. Coloured acrylic that lets light through is bonded to the back of the front panel. The combination of an illuminated image on an unlit background creates a very interesting effect.

Light box design: which one should you order?

We understand that deciding what you want and bringing your ideas to life is not easy, especially if you have never done it before. That is why the RVK Tashuta designers are ready to help.

The main thing to remember is that an original light box makes it easy to create a distinctive image for your brand – for example, by ordering a shaped (moulded) light box in the form of your logo.

Get your advertising message right and add a bright, eye-catching image that conveys the essence of your campaign. Even if a light box simply shows your company name, it can do so in an original way and stand out from the mass of other advertising.

On our website you can order not only a light box but also its installation in Kyiv!

RVK Tashuta installation teams can install your new light box of any complexity and remove the old one. Once all loads have been calculated, our electrician will connect the structure to the mains properly. Where needed, we make special brackets for non-standard mounting.

Installation itself is carried out from a ladder, scaffolding or an aerial platform. We seal all joints and junctions to keep water out and prevent the light box from failing. When the work is complete, a completion certificate is signed.

We look after our customers and provide a 1-year warranty service. Post-warranty service is also available on separate terms.

And if you are ordering a light box outside Kyiv, do not worry about installation!

Our installers can work anywhere in Ukraine. If you have a small light box and do not want to overpay for transport, you do not need to worry about who will install and then service it: advertising companies we have long worked with will help install your illuminated structure anywhere in Ukraine. We remain responsible for logistics and warranty obligations.
