Confirming that the artwork is fully in order:
- On paper: the manager prints the approved artwork in two copies with all parameters (size, colour, material, quantity, etc.), which are signed by the customer and the manager
- Electronically. The artwork is sent to the customer's email. A reply saying “artwork approved”, “all fine, go ahead”, etc. counts as approval
What the customer should check before approving:
- Design and correct placement of elements
- Text, phone numbers, dates, addresses and names, including punctuation and spelling
- Sizes, main materials, colour numbers (if specified)
Responsibility and disputes:
When you approve artwork, remember that you are confirming that all the information is correct and needs no changes. The manager sends the final artwork and technical specification to production. Claims regarding approved artwork are not accepted.
The exception is errors made by the contractor:
- Production errors
- Important information was missing from the artwork that the customer could not have known about
- The artwork was not sent to the customer for approval
- There was no confirmation from the customer that the artwork was approved
