Unlike a similar indoor display, an outdoor stand is not fixed to a wall but stands on its own frame – there may be no façade or load-bearing wall nearby. This section features three structurally different solutions: a display case with lockable sections behind shared glazing, a memorial board on a metal frame and a banner frame with a replaceable print. What they have in common is that they are built to stand outdoors, not indoors.
| Type | Construction | Front material | Format |
| Display case with doors | sections behind shared glazing, closed with doors | clear plastic pockets behind glass | 10–30 pockets, mixed orientation |
| Memorial board | demountable square-section tube frame | aluminium composite panel (ACM) with laminated print | 1200×1100 mm |
| Banner frame | square-section tube frame, banner laced in | printed banner | 50×80 cm or 60×90 cm, display area 800×500 mm |
This unit consists of several sections behind shared glazing, joined by a single frame. The flat clear plastic pockets sit behind the glass – 10 to 30 per unit, in mixed orientation. The sections close with doors, so only someone with access can change the contents, not any passer-by. The unit has a shaped outline: a round three-dimensional emblem sits above the frieze, a decorative border runs along the edge, and the sections are illuminated, so the stand can be read after dark too.
The 1200×1100 mm board is mounted on its own demountable frame of 50×50 mm and 20×20 mm square-section tube – it arrives in parts and is assembled on site, with no welding required. A full-colour image is printed on the aluminium composite panel and covered with lamination, so outdoors the front surface is protected rather than being a bare print. At the bottom there are horizontal tubular shelves for flowers and memorial candles, and flagpoles are installed alongside: the board serves a ceremonial purpose as well as an informational one. The back is solid, in the same frame.
Here, instead of a rigid board, a printed banner is stretched in the frame: the frame stands on its own and needs no wall. The display area is 800×500 mm for both stand sizes, 50×80 cm and 60×90 cm. The banner is laced through eyelets around the edge and bolted to the frame, so it does not sag or ripple. When the content needs updating, only the banner is removed – the frame stays in place and the structure does not have to be dismantled.
The layout for each of the three types is put together from your artwork; file requirements are in the article on print-ready artwork. If you need a stand for indoor rather than outdoor use, the design is similar but without the outdoor features – see the Information boards, Lockable display cases and Composite boards sections.
