Lecterns and podiums for speeches

A lectern is the speaker’s workstation in front of an audience – used at conferences, lectures, meetings and formal speeches.

This section features lecterns of three different designs: a chipboard cabinet with a logo, an all-acrylic sloping lectern and a mobile folding stand on chrome tube. Each model is a separate series with its own size and design, so you can buy a lectern for a small stage or a spacious hall.

Three lectern designs

  • Chipboard cabinet with a front panel and space for a logo – enclosed on all sides, for permanent installation.
  • All-acrylic lectern with a sloping top – an open, transparent design for modern interiors.
  • Mobile folding lectern on chrome tube – folds down for transport and storage.

An enclosed cabinet suits an office or assembly hall where the lectern stays put. A clear acrylic lectern is for situations where the speaker should not be hidden from the audience. A mobile one is for off-site speeches and events away from your office, where the lectern has to be brought in and taken away.

Cabinet colour and logo application on chipboard lecterns

On cabinet lecterns, you can match the chipboard colour to the hall interior or your corporate style. The same palette of 14 chipboard shades applies to the whole group of models, even if the product page does not show it as a separate option.

A logo or other symbols can be applied to the front panel in two ways: as an appliqué in Oracal 641 film or as raised elements made of coloured Altuglas acrylic. Both methods require vector artwork. One model has an acrylic logo plate instead, fitted as a separate overlay.

Acrylic lecterns with a sloping top

All-acrylic lecterns are built differently: the top is set at a 20° angle, which makes it equally comfortable to read a printed speech or text on a tablet or laptop. A ledge along the lower edge stops sheets from sliding off during the speech.

On one of the acrylic models, the clear panel can be ordered tinted for a less transparent, more subdued look. General care tips for clear acrylic surfaces are in the article caring for acrylic products.

Mobile lectern

A mobile lectern on chrome tube is essentially the same speaker’s reading stand, only collapsible: it folds down for transport and storage, which makes it ideal for off-site speeches and events away from the office.

A carry bag can be ordered for some models. Some models come with an assembly key. One model has a printed PVC panel with a full-front image instead of a pocket for papers; the others have an open pocket for the speaker’s notes.

Where lecterns are used

A lectern is needed wherever someone addresses an audience: conference rooms, lecture theatres, company assembly halls and meeting rooms. Churches are a special case: this section includes a model designed specifically for church use, with a colour scheme to suit a church interior. A lectern is sometimes also called a speaking podium – it is a synonym, not a different product.

Manufacturing and ordering

Production time for a lectern is 3-7 days for every model in this section, regardless of design or logo application method.
