An A-board is a freestanding advertising display that goes out onto the pavement in the morning and is brought back inside in the evening. You can move it easily whenever you like: it is not tied to the façade and works wherever people are passing today. Showing all the essential information concisely, an A-board does not go unnoticed – especially in busy places.
RVK Tashuta makes advertising A-boards with graphics of any layout and complexity. Below we explain what the display is made of, how the frame shapes differ and which version suits your purpose.
This freestanding display goes by several everyday names, and all of them are in use. "Pavement sign" – because the advertising is aimed at passers-by walking past. "Sandwich board" and "street line" are two more names you hear both in everyday and in trade speech. They always mean the same thing: a stable freestanding display with a single- or double-sided advertising face.
This category features A-boards with fixed graphics: the advertising face is designed once and works without changing the image.
The display has two parts: the frame and the advertising face. We make the frames from round, chrome-plated or square/rectangular steel tube. This tube is light, looks good and lasts a long time. Low weight matters here: an outdoor A-board is carried out and brought in every day, so it is a daily routine rather than a one-off installation.
Frame colour of your choice: grey, black or custom.
The material of the advertising face depends on where the A-board will be displayed:
A frameless A-board is a separate PVC version with no tube support. It is a structurally different product, not a lighter version of the framed one.
If your tastes are conservative, take a look at the standard A-board types, whose design features are reflected in their names:
An A-board on a round or square base made of round tube also looks interesting. The base is the second choice after the frame shape: the pavement sign is built on a round base, while the outdoor and double-sided A-boards are built on a square one.
The image itself is applied either by full-colour printing or as an appliqué of self-adhesive Oracal film. Both methods are used on the same advertising face – the choice depends on the artwork.
For extra protection of the image you can order lamination on one or both sides. A double-sided A-board advertises on both sides, a single-sided one on the front only.
An A-board with chalkboard film is very handy, especially if the information changes often – for example, a café menu or the product of the day. This is a straightforward way to choose: if the content changes every day, a chalk surface is better than print; if the image is permanent, the opposite is true.
Chalkboard film is a way of applying the content, not a separate display: you choose the frame shape and base just as for the printed version.
These stable freestanding displays are versatile, as they suit both outdoor and indoor use. They are placed wherever people pass by: footfall is exactly what this display is designed for.
Some tasks have their own versions – for example, a tent-style currency exchange A-board. We can also offer you non-standard freestanding displays to bring the most imaginative ideas to life, for example a "life-size cut-out + A-board" combination.
