School Board 594x420mm

A set of school signs: six boards per set, one portrait on each. Each board shows a writer's portrait with their name and years of life below, all in a decorative frame. Sets like this are hung in a continuous row in a literature or language classroom: six signs of the same format read as one display rather than a random selection of pictures.

Two set sizes

The set comes in two board formats: 400x300 mm and 594x420 mm. The smaller one suits a classroom where the wall is taken up by a board and cupboards; the larger one suits a hall or corridor where the sign is viewed from several metres away. Either way, there are six boards in the set.

Printing at 1440 dpi

The portrait is printed over the whole board at 1440 dpi, so facial halftones and the small caption text do not break up into dots. This matters for portrait graphics: a film appliqué cannot reproduce an image like this at all.

Optional lamination

The print can be laminated. The film sits over the image and takes the touching and wiping: in a school corridor boards are handled far more often than in an office. Without lamination the board is simpler and thinner; with lamination it resists wear better.

Requirements for the file you send are collected in the article on print-ready artwork; the approval process is in the article artwork approval rules.

• Board size, plastic thickness and lamination are chosen when you order.
• The choice of portraits in the set is approved from the artwork.
• Production time 3-7 days.
