A flat rectangle on a large wall reads as a utility sign and gets lost among the doors and furniture next to it. So the base and overlays are cut to a curved outline and assembled into one panel: the relief separates the information area from the backing, and the silhouette sets the reading order — from the header with the title to the document layout.

How it is built
- the base and overlay elements are cut along separate vector outlines and then assembled into one composite panel;
- the CNC cutter handles curves, sharp corners and internal cut-outs, so the silhouette is not tied to straight lines;
- the top layer brings the header with the title forward from the background;
- the document layout stays on the base and the title goes on an overlay element, so the areas do not mix on one plane.
Printing vs appliqué: what's the difference
Printing lays down the whole image: background, title, document layout, photos and gradients — with no limit on the number of colours. The smaller the font and the finer the lines in the artwork, the higher the resolution used; large blocks and text read from a distance need less. Appliqué works differently: the colour comes from the film itself, cut along an outline, so you get smooth single-colour fills without a halftone dot, but the design has to be built from solid blocks rather than halftones.
What to consider in the artwork
- the cutting outline is supplied as a separate layer — the machine guides the cutter along it;
- the customer specifies the width and height, and the outline of the base and overlays is recalculated to those dimensions;
- text and logos are converted to curves; the difference between formats is explained in the article "Vector or raster graphics";
- raster inserts are prepared at working resolution for the actual size of the parts;
- the document layout is set to the size of the sheets that will be displayed on the board;
- other conditions — see the print-ready artwork requirements.
The board is used in shops, schools, shopping centres and all kinds of organisations — where an information corner should look like part of the interior rather than a utility sign. The layout holds orders, timetables and notices — things that change regularly. Mounting — keyhole hangers.
- The shape and silhouette are agreed from a sketch.
- The customer sets the dimensions: give us the width and height, and the board is cut to them.
- Artwork is accepted in vector format.
- Production time 3-7 days.
