About product

About product Coloured Acrylic Desk Sign Plate 200x200mm

A desk sign plate 200 mm wide and 200 mm high, made of coloured acrylic 3 mm. The panel slots into a separate stand, so you can take it out and replace it without changing the base.

Size	200 x 200 mm
Material	coloured acrylic 3 mm
Construction	panel in a separate stand
Print method	UV printing 1440 dpi, coloured film appliqué, applied 3D acrylic elements
Choose a colour	Oracal 641 film, 60 colours · Altuglas coloured acrylic palette
Production time	3-7 days

What we print and how

UV printing at 1440 dpi goes directly onto the material and cures under ultraviolet light: there is no film layer and colours are not limited to a palette.
Appliqué: the outline is plotter-cut from coloured film, with the colour chosen from Oracal 641 film, 60 colours.
The 3D elements are cut from acrylic separately and glued on top of the base: the letters stand proud of the surface and cast a shadow.
Both raster and vector artwork will do — the difference between vector and raster.

How it stands on a table

The stand is heavier than the panel, so the centre of gravity is low and the plate stands steadily. A desk sign plate has no fixings: it isn't drilled or glued — you simply set it down and remove it when needed.

How to choose the size

A desk sign plate is read from the other side of the desk, so choose the size to suit the length of the text: a name and job title on two lines need a wider format than a single word.

If in doubt, go one size up: a blank margin around the edges reads better than text crammed up against the edge.

Care

Never clean acrylic with glass cleaners or alcohol-based products: ammonia and alcohol cause crazing — a network of micro-cracks that clouds the surface permanently. Wash it with warm water and mild soap using a soft cotton cloth. Read more: caring for acrylic products.

These sign plates are used on executives' desks and at reception, in meeting rooms and at conferences, in doctors' offices and lecture halls — anywhere a person needs to be identified by name and job title.
