"Figure" Earring Display

'Figure' is a human silhouette cut from a sheet and standing in an oval base. Earrings hang from holes in the outstretched arms, and customers immediately see the jewellery on a human scale: it is clear how long the drop is and how it will look near the face.

The silhouette gives scale

An earring on a flat panel has no size: until you hold it up, its length stays abstract. A human outline solves this without words — the drop hangs next to a stylised head and shoulder, and the proportion is clear instantly. That is why the figure is cut out instead of using a regular stand.

Four positions on the arms

The holes are spread across both arms, so the pairs hang symmetrically and do not touch each other. There is space between them, and each earring remains a separate item rather than part of a cluster. Do not hang more on this figure — it stops reading as a figure.

Clear or black acrylic

• A clear silhouette all but disappears, leaving only the jewellery.
• Black turns the outline into a graphic visible from a distance.
• For a themed display case the black outline works better; for everyday use, clear.

Care

Earring hooks are harder than acrylic, and scratches gradually build up around the holes. Clean with warm water, a mild detergent and a soft damp cloth, and avoid ammonia-based glass cleaners — they leave an irreversible network of micro-cracks. More in caring for acrylic products.
