"In the Rain" Earring Display

'In the Rain' is an umbrella canopy on a thin upright; earrings go into small holes in the canopy so the drops hang down like raindrops. The shape suggests a story, and the display stops being just a row of products — it becomes a small scene.

Holes for studs, not hooks

The small hole in the canopy is sized for a stud earring post: it goes right through and is secured with a back on the other side. Studs, which simply fall through a regular stand with hook holes, sit straight here and stay in place. For a stud earring department this makes all the difference.

The canopy blocks the background

The canopy overhangs the jewellery and cuts off whatever stands behind the stand. The products sit against an even, clear field with no visual clutter behind — the same trick as a backdrop in product photography, only made of acrylic.

Base with rounded corners

• A square with rounded corners does not catch on sleeves or neighbouring products.
• The base is wider than the canopy, so the stand does not tip forward.
• The upright slots into the base and comes out for storage.

Care

Clean with warm water, a mild detergent and a soft damp cloth. Ammonia-based glass cleaners leave an irreversible network of micro-cracks on acrylic; do not wipe dry — static will attract the dust back. More in caring for acrylic products.
