Hanging slatwall fitting, 260x130 mm. A one-piece sloping tray shelf with no vertical back: the sheet runs straight from the top profile, and the platform narrows towards the front edge, which curves smoothly upwards into an arched stop. The trapezoid shape is not decoration but a way of keeping goods visible from the aisle at a sharp angle.

Narrowing towards the front edge
A rectangular shelf hides whatever stands on the one below. Narrowing towards the front edge removes excess material from the line of sight: the shopper sees the goods on the lower tier without stepping back from the panel.
An arch instead of a straight lip
A straight folded lip holds goods along a line and leaves a noticeable edge. A smooth arch takes the item along a radius and is gentler, which matters for shoes with light-coloured soles and for soft packaging.
The same curve gives the shelf a stiffening rib along the front edge, where the cantilever is under the most load.
Slope and weight
- the slope turns the goods towards the passing shopper;
- the arched stop keeps them from sliding down the slope;
- thickness is chosen by the weight of the display and how far the shelf projects from the panel.
Care
Glass cleaner leaves an irreversible web of micro-cracks on acrylic. Wash with warm water, a mild detergent and a soft cloth, and wipe damp. See caring for acrylic products.
The fitting goes on shop-floor panels in a shoe shop. It is laser cut from sheet acrylic and bent along a heated line, and the edges are polished.
