Acrylic Shoe Display H=60mm

An acrylic shoe stand, 60 mm high. A simple bent shape: a sloping surface and a fold at the top, with no lips or add-on parts. The fewer lines a stand has, the less it competes with the shoe: clear acrylic is almost invisible against the light, leaving only the pair in the display.

Minimal construction

Lips, stops and add-on parts each have their purpose, but every one adds an extra edge to the silhouette. There are none here: the stand holds its angle with a single bend, and what you see in the display is the shoe, not what is under it.

How to choose the height

The height sets the angle of the slope. Low stands lift the pair just above the shelf and keep the row compact; high ones set the shoe almost upright and make the model stand out from the line-up.

Staggered heights set up a hierarchy: whatever stands higher is read first. An even row of identical heights is something the eye skims over without stopping.

Thickness to suit the weight of the pair

• for light summer shoes, a thin sheet is enough;
• for a winter boot, a thicker sheet is used, otherwise the sloping surface flexes;
• the taller the stand, the longer the sloping span and the more noticeable the difference.

Care

Glass cleaner is a no-go for acrylic: ammonia leaves a web of micro-cracks that polishing will not remove. Warm water, a little mild detergent and a lint-free cloth; do not rub it dry. See caring for acrylic products.

The stand works in a shop window, on a podium and on a shoe shop shelf. It is bent from a single sheet of acrylic along a heated line: when fully heated, the bend stays clear.
