Acrylic Cake Tier (Box) 150x150mm

The 150x130x130 mm cake tier is a faceted box with a flat lid and base, each with a round hole in the centre. The central support of the multi-tier structure passes through it: the tiers stack one on top of another and stay aligned.

The central hole is not decorative

A multi-tier cake is assembled around a central axis; otherwise the upper tiers slide sideways under their own weight. The matching holes in the lid and base set this axis: each box sits exactly above the one below. Without a through-hole, the structure would have to be lined up by eye every time it is assembled.

Four sizes in the range

• The smallest box is the top tier of the pyramid.
• The middle ones are the intermediate levels.
• The largest is the base that holds up the whole structure.

The faces of all sizes are matched, so the tiers stack into a regular tapering pyramid.

Food contact

Acrylic is washed by hand and never scrubbed with abrasives: a scratch on it is not a cosmetic flaw but a groove where cream collects and can't be fully washed out. A smooth surface cleans completely; a scratched one no longer does. For the same reason, the box should not go in the dishwasher: acrylic cannot withstand heat, and the sheet warps and turns cloudy.

How to clean

Warm water, a mild detergent, a soft cloth. Glass cleaners containing ammonia must not be used on acrylic: they cause a network of micro-cracks that clouds the surface permanently. Full guide: caring for acrylic products.

The tiers are used in patisseries, for assembling wedding and anniversary cakes and for banquet service. Material: clear acrylic.

Production time: 3-7 days.
