The dagger stand is an elongated base with two upright supports slotted into it: the blade rests in the notches along their top edges and hangs without touching the table or the stand itself. A separate plate of coloured acrylic carries the engraved inscription.

The blade rests on nothing
A knife laid flat rests on its blade and picks up micro-scratches, while the polished surface of the blade is exactly why a collector's piece is bought. The two notches hold it by the spine at two points, and the cutting edge stays in the air. The blade is also turned side-on to the viewer rather than seen from above.
Engraved plate
The information is laser-engraved on coloured acrylic: the laser removes the top layer and the lettering stays in the material itself, matt and without paint that wears off with wiping. Against a solid coloured background, this engraving reads with high contrast. Vector artwork is required; for file formats, see vector or raster graphics.
Materials of different thicknesses
- The base is 6 mm clear acrylic, the load-bearing part.
- The plate is 3 mm coloured acrylic, a legible background for the inscription.
- The supports fit into slots in the base, and the structure is held together by the shape of the joints.
Care
Wash with warm water, a mild detergent and a soft damp cloth. Glass cleaners containing ammonia must not be used on acrylic: they cause a permanent network of micro-cracks. More details: caring for acrylic products.
