A description instead of a price tag

A price tag answers one question and takes up a corner. A description area changes the conversation: the customer reads the specifications next to the phone and does not have to look for a sales assistant to ask about storage or screen size.

Hence the proportions: the easel face is larger than the phone itself, leaving room for text even with a large phone on the stand.

What holds the phone

• the upturned bottom lip takes the edge of the phone;
• the inclined face sets the viewing angle for both the screen and the text;
• the support leg at the back stops the easel folding backwards under the weight.

Thickness to suit the size

The larger the front face, the longer its unsupported span and the more the sheet springs. On a stand this size, the thickness is chosen not by the weight of the phone but by the size of the face itself.

Care

Acrylic is softer than glass: ammonia-based glass cleaner leaves a network of micro-cracks, permanently. Warm water, a mild detergent and a soft cloth will do; wipe while wet, as wiping dry builds up static on the surface and attracts dust. Read more: caring for acrylic products.

The stand is designed for the display case and counter of a mobile phone shop, where models are shown with their specifications. It is bent and cut from sheet acrylic.
