Mobile Phone Stand, 55x100mm. A tall back panel with an arched top, two triangular side ribs and a horizontal tray base with a shaped front wall. The panel rises well above the phone, leaving a clear area above it that acts as a backdrop for the display.

A panel taller than the phone

A stand that is open at the back shows the phone against whatever happens to be behind the display case. A tall panel cuts off that background: the phone is seen against an even clear surface, not against a busy sales floor behind the glass.

The arched top removes the right angle above the phone, leaving a soft line in the display rather than a frame.

Triangular ribs

• two side ribs stop the tall panel folding backwards;
• they also take the sideways force when the phone is picked up with one hand;
• the triangular profile relies on rigidity, not on the amount of material.

Tray with a shaped wall

The base is made as a tray: the raised front wall holds the bottom edge of the phone, and its shaped outline marks the edge of the display. Small accessories also fit in the tray without getting in the phone's way.

Care

Glass cleaner leaves a network of micro-cracks on acrylic, permanently. Clean with warm water, a mild detergent and a soft cloth, always while wet: caring for acrylic products.

The stand is designed for the display case and counter of a mobile phone shop. The outline is laser-cut from sheet acrylic and the piece is bent along a heated line.
