Mobile Phone Stand with Price Tag Holder, 80x100mm. A structure bent from a strip: a horizontal base, a step that holds the bottom edge of the phone and a tall hoop of two loops above the platform. The hoop wraps over the top of the phone, so it is held not only from below and does not tip over when touched.

Why raise the phone

Lying flat on the counter, a phone shows the customer its edge and back cover. Raised and turned, it shows the screen and front – exactly what people choose a phone by.

Two support points

• the step at the bottom takes the edge of the phone;
• the hoop at the top stops it tipping forwards;
• the bent base spreads the weight across the counter rather than along a narrow edge.

A phone on display is picked up and put back dozens of times a day, often one-handed. A stand held by a single stop gradually slides across the glass; two-point support copes with this easily.

Thickness

The thickness is chosen to suit the weight of the phone and how far the hoop reaches out from the base: the further out the hoop, the more noticeably a thin sheet flexes each time the phone is lifted.

Care

Acrylic is softer than glass, and what damages it is cleaning, not the product: glass cleaner containing ammonia leaves a network of micro-cracks that cannot be polished out. Clean with warm water, a mild detergent and a soft cloth, and wipe while damp – see acrylic product care.

The stand is designed for counters and display cases in phone shops and electronics and accessories departments. It is bent from sheet acrylic with no joints: the clear structure is almost invisible in the display case, so the customer looks at the phone.
