Smartphone Stand with Price Tag, 80x100mm. A tray base bent from a strip with a front shelf-stop and a low, upright disc-shaped back. There are no side stops at all: the phone stands on the stop and leans back against the disc, leaving its sides fully open.

Open sides

Side walls keep the phone from shifting but also cover its edges – and the edge is exactly where the customer judges the phone's thickness and the position of its ports. There are none here: the smartphone is fully visible, including its profile.

Instead, stability comes from a low centre of gravity: the tray base is wider and heavier than the top.

A disc instead of a rectangular back

• the round back supports the phone in the centre, where the pressure falls when it is put down;
• it has no corners sticking up above the phone in the display view;
• the outline is laser-cut – a saw cannot produce a circle.

Thickness

The sheet thickness is chosen to suit the weight of the phone: on a stand without side walls, the back takes all the sideways load when the phone is lifted, so a thicker sheet is used for heavy models.

Care

Glass cleaner leaves a network of micro-cracks on acrylic that cannot be polished out. Clean with warm water, a mild detergent and a soft cloth, always while damp – see acrylic product care.

The stand is designed for the counter and display case of a mobile phone shop, electronics or accessories department. It is cut and bent from sheet acrylic.
