Smartphone Stand, 125x110x80mm. An inclined oval back flows into an oval flat base with a small flanged stop at the front. No box, no side panels, no separate parts: the whole stand is a single bent plate with a rounded contour along its entire length.

Oval instead of a rectangle

A rectangular stand has four corners that show from behind the device and add extra lines to the display. The oval contour follows a shape the eye does not catch on: what remains behind the phone is a soft patch, not a frame.

The rounded edge is also safer on an open counter: there is no sharp corner at hand height.

One piece

• the back and base are formed from one sheet with one bend;
• the flanged front stop takes the bottom edge of the device;
• nothing can come apart: there are no joints or add-on parts in the design.

Thickness to suit the phone's weight

The angle is held by the springiness of the plate itself, so thickness determines both the rigidity and how long the angle lasts. For a heavy device, choose a thicker sheet: a thin one gradually straightens under the weight.

Care

Ammonia-based glass cleaner leaves a network of micro-cracks on acrylic that cannot be repaired. A soft cloth, warm water and a drop of detergent are all you need; wipe while wet: caring for acrylic products.

The stand goes on the counter, an island table and in the display case of a mobile phone shop. The contour is laser-cut from acrylic sheet: you cannot get a smooth oval with a saw.
