Mobile Phone Stand, 60x120x60mm. A narrow, tall, inclined back set on a separate flat horizontal base, with a short support ledge at the bottom. The back is narrower than the device body, so the phone covers it completely and only the base underneath is visible in the display case.

Back narrower than the phone

A wide back sticks out at the sides of the device and draws a clear rectangle behind it that catches glare from the display lighting. A narrow one hides completely behind the body: the customer sees the phone as if it were standing on its own.

In a row of identical devices this gives an even front: no clear rectangles appear between the phones, and the display reads as one continuous line.

Separate base

• the flat plate gives a low centre of gravity and stops the stand sliding on glass;
• the back stands on it rather than growing out of it as a bend, so the angle does not depend on the springiness of the sheet;
• the short support ledge takes the bottom edge of the device.

Thickness to suit the weight

The narrow back carries all the weight over a small width, so thickness matters more here than with wide designs: for a heavy device, choose a thicker sheet, otherwise the back visibly flexes when the phone is removed.

Care

Ammonia in glass cleaner eats into acrylic, leaving a network of micro-cracks that cannot be removed. Warm water, a little mild detergent and a lint-free cloth; do not rub dry — see acrylic product care.

The stand is designed for the counter and display case of a mobile phone shop or accessories department. It is cut and bent from acrylic sheet, with polished edges.
