Acrylic Smartphone Stand, 80x115mm. A horizontal base, an inclined back support and a bent front lip ledge; at the sides, two retaining tabs keep the device from shifting. The tabs hold the phone at the sides but do not reach the screen, so the front is fully open.

Side tabs

A stand without side stops lets the device go at the first sideways touch, and within an hour the display is askew. The two tabs give the phone a channel: it can be picked up and put back with one hand, and it returns to exactly where it was taken from.

The tabs are narrow and cover neither the screen nor the side buttons, so the customer can see and assess the whole body.

What holds the phone

• the sloping back sets the screen viewing angle;
• the bent front lip takes the bottom edge;
• the horizontal base keeps the centre of gravity low.

Thickness to suit the weight

Thickness is chosen according to the weight of the device and the height of the back: the taller the back, the longer its free span from the base and the more noticeably a thin sheet flexes when the phone is removed.

Care

Acrylic is softer than glass: ammonia-based glass cleaner leaves a network of micro-cracks, permanently. Use warm water, a little mild detergent and a lint-free cloth; do not wipe dry: caring for acrylic products.

The stand is designed for the counter and display case of a mobile phone shop, electronics or accessories department. It is bent from acrylic sheet along heated lines, with no joints or add-on parts.
