Acrylic Smartphone Stand with Price Tag. Here the inclined surface and the base do not flow into each other but are set apart and intersect; the stop is a separate horizontal shelf in the middle, with an open gap underneath. A price tag fits into this gap without taking space from the device.

Gap under the stop

On a solid stand, space for a price tag has to be added as a separate pocket, and the structure grows. Here it appears by itself: the stop shelf is set away from the base, and the space beneath it is already free.

The same gap makes cleaning easier: there is no closed cavity under the device where dust collects.

Intersecting surfaces

• the inclined surface and the base support each other at the point where they intersect;
• the angle is set by geometry rather than the springiness of a bend, and does not drift under weight;
• the separate shelf is placed where the device needs it, not wherever the bend line happens to fall.

Thickness to suit the phone's weight

The stop shelf works as a cantilever and takes the weight of the phone at its outer end. For heavy models, choose a thicker sheet: on a thin one the cantilever shelf noticeably springs every time the device is removed.

Care

The ammonia in glass cleaner attacks acrylic, leaving a network of micro-cracks that cannot be removed. Wash with warm water, a mild detergent and a soft cloth, and wipe while wet: wiping dry builds up static on the surface and attracts dust. More in caring for acrylic products.

The stand goes on the counter and in the display case of a mobile phone shop, electronics or accessories department. It is cut and bent from acrylic sheet along heated lines.
