Mobile Phone Stand, 80x90x80mm. A wide inclined back panel, two shaped curved side pieces and a base with crosswise bars at the front forming a cradle for the phone. The bars run across, not lengthwise: the phone rests its edge on them at two points and does not drop between them.

Crosswise bars

A solid lip collects dust under the phone and makes it hard to lift the phone from below. Two crosswise bars leave a gap between them: you can slip a finger under the bottom edge, and the display itself stays open and easy to wipe.

Curves at the sides

• the curved side pieces stop the wide back moving sideways;
• the curve avoids a right angle above the phone and stays out of sight;
• at the same thickness, a curved part is stiffer than a straight one.

Thickness to suit the weight

The back is wide, and its unsupported span between the side curves is large. For heavy phones choose thicker sheet, otherwise the panel wobbles every time the phone is taken off.

Care

Never clean acrylic with glass cleaner: ammonia leaves a network of micro-cracks for good. Clean with warm water, a mild detergent and a soft cloth, always while wet, as wiping dry builds up static on the surface and attracts dust. What else matters: caring for acrylic products.

The stand goes on the counter and in the display case of a mobile phone shop, electronics or accessories department. The contour of the arcs is laser-cut from acrylic sheet.
