Acrylic Smartphone Stand, 55x110mm. A large side gusset wall and an inclined tray with an upturned front lip, forming a V-shaped cradle for a single flat phone. The gusset stands at the side, not at the back: it holds the tilt and closes off the display on one side at the same time.

Side gusset

A rear strut props up a stand, but it also shows behind the phone. A side gusset is almost entirely out of the front view: from the front you see the phone and the thin line of the cradle, not a support triangle behind it.

V-shaped cradle

• the inclined tray takes the phone body on its flat face, not on an edge;
• the upturned front lip catches the bottom edge;
• the two planes meet at an angle, so the phone settles in exactly the same position every time.

The wall is on one side only, so the stand is turned with the gusset towards the end of the display; the row of phones is then closed off by it like a bracket.

Thickness to suit the weight

Choose the thickness by the weight of the phone: the gusset holds the tilt from one side, and on thin sheet a heavy phone gradually pulls the cradle over to its side.

Care

Glass cleaner with ammonia clouds acrylic with micro-cracks that can no longer be polished out. Use warm water, a mild detergent and a soft cloth, and wipe while damp – see acrylic product care.

The stand goes on the counter and in the display case of a mobile phone shop, electronics or accessories department. It is bent from sheet acrylic with polished edges: on a clear piece the edge shows right through.
