Shaped Plate Stand 75x95x60mm

A shaped plate stand, size 75x95x60 mm. Two side panels with a wavy outline, a vertical back wall between them, and narrow base feet underneath with upturned toes. The wave is not just decoration: a curved edge is stiffer than a straight one, and it keeps the tall, narrow structure from warping.

Tall and narrow: why these proportions

The stand lifts the plate noticeably above the base. In a dense display this is the only way to show a plate in full without moving its neighbours: a shelf always has more room in height than in depth.

What holds the plate

• the upturned toes of the feet take the bottom edge;
• the vertical wall between the side panels stops the plate from sliding back;
• the forward-reaching feet prevent tipping over.

Smooth glaze slides on smooth acrylic, so the front stop is a working part, not a decorative detail.

How to choose the size

The deciding dimension is the rim height of the plate, not its diameter. A stand lower than its plate will not hold the centre of gravity. The two sizes in the range are designed for different ranges of tableware, so choose the one that matches, not a bigger one to be safe.

Care

Ammonia in glass cleaner eats into acrylic, leaving a network of micro-cracks that cannot be removed. Wash with warm water, a mild detergent and a soft cloth, and wipe damp.

Shaped cutting creates a long edge, and it needs more care than anything else. More on this: caring for acrylic products.

The stand is used in tableware shop display cases, gift departments and decorative ceramics displays. It is laser cut from sheet acrylic and bent along a heated line, so the wavy outline comes out without chips.
